I have a confession to make. Something I’ve kept hidden since my twenties (and I’m about 20 years out from my twenties these days). And, yes, I know we all do questionable things in college. But me, well, I made a study of it.
Are you ready for my deep, dark secret?
Here it comes…
I went
TO THEATRE SCHOOL
That’s right, I was a 100% bonafide drama nerd for most of my early years. I even worked at a Renaissance Festival. That’s how much of a nerd. Like a really, really big one.
Did you see the Theatre Camp movie that’s streaming on Disney+ – I did. And I felt SO SEEN.
I worked as an actor, a stage manager, did set and lighting design – I loved all of it.
But here’s the thing – we’re all nerds about something.
We’re all passionate about something that others might find silly or weird. And instead of hiding it, we need to embrace it.
So, what does this have to do with your pets? When you book a session, I promise to sprinkle a little stardust on your furry friend. I’m thrilled to combine my passion for photography with my background in theatre to make your four-legged friend the star of the show.
The Artistry Behind the Lens
At Laura Wombwell Photography, I believe that each pet has a unique personality waiting to be revealed. With a keen eye for detail and a touch of theatrical flair, my goal is to capture the essence of your beloved furry companion in every photograph. From zoomies to cuddles, my lens captures it all – because every pet deserves their moment in the spotlight.
Picture this: your pooch as the headliner in their very own show! We’re not just snapping pictures; we’re orchestrating a canine spectacle.
Theatre-licious Touches
It’s not just about the camera; it’s about the performance. Drawing from my background in theatre, I approach pet photography as a storytelling experience. Every photo session is a stage, and your pet is the lead actor. I understand the importance of lighting, composition, and expression – elements that can transform a simple photograph into a captivating scene. Imagine your pet as the star of a Shakespearean play, the hero of a whimsical fairytale – or even the ingenue in a blockbuster dinosaur movie!
Whether your pet is a seasoned performer or a bit camera-shy, my sessions are tailor-made to capture their unique quirks. We’re here to freeze those ‘aha!’ moments, those goofy grins, and those soulful stares – all while ensuring your pet has a blast “on set”!
Making Your Pet a Star
The final act is the grand reveal – your pet stepping into the spotlight as the star they were born to be. Your carefully curated photographs are not just images; they’re a testament to the love, joy, and unique personality your pet brings into your life.
So that’s my confession – I want to bring my theatre-nerdiness to your pet photoshoot to make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your and your furry best friend!
What’s your confession? What are you a nerd about?
How can I help you let it shine?

Wow, I totally didn’t know this about you! Your perspective on pet photography is truly refreshing! Incorporating your background in theatre to view each session as a performance is such a creative approach. I mean, I knew you were creative, but now I know why!

Thanks so much! I love trying to make my photoshoots into a fun production for everyone involved!
Oh my gosh, I love your approach! Every pet is the star and I love how you linked that back to your original passion.

Amazing! I love the idea of the pet as the headliner in their very own show. Can’t wait to see the productions you create in 2024!
From one Renaissance Festival lover to another, I love everything about this! You can tell that your passion for theater and showing a pet as the main star of the show really shines through. Seriously, so fun!

I’m a huge fan of bringing a bit of yourself into your work and love that you incorporate a bit of drama and theatre training into your work! And because pets have so little hang ups about themselves, it’s probably pretty easy to get them on board with the “extra” that comes with acting and production.

Your theatre background definitely adds a bit of flare and drama to your sessions. They look like they would be a lot of fun to be a part of.

“A canine spectacle” HAHAH! Laura, when I think about pet photography and drama, you are the FIRST person that comes to mind. While I didn’t know you had a theatre background, it does not surprise me in the least bit! I can’t wait to see what you create in 2024!
