It’s a new year, and there have been lots of exciting changes around here!
Since Covid-19 pretty much threw all of my pet photography plans for 2020 into chaos, I decided to make the best of it and threw myself into some new adventures. The first is this website, which I designed and built over the holiday season. I’m so excited to share all of these new pet images with you!
I’ve also invested in lots of new things for the coming year – new products (you’re going to LOVE the stacked metal), a new simpler session structure and price list, and I’ve been bingeing LOADS of education over the lockdown. I can’t wait to try out some of my new ideas with you and your pets.
Kipper and Brie are tired of being my only models! Well, Kipper isn’t, he’s always down for more treats! But, both me and my pets can’t wait to get back to regular sessions again. Enhanced protocols will be in place – I’ll be masked for our sessions and have sanitzer with me at all times. Studio pet-photography sessions are currently held with my portable set-up, allowing us to bring the studio outdoors. If you’re keep to book a session, send me a message and I’d be happy to start planning with you!
The next exciting project I’ve been working on is the Southwestern Ontario Pet Collective. I recently attended an online pet photography conference and was INCREDIBLY inspired by Marika Moffatt of Dirtie Dog Photography in Seattle. She is also the founder of the Seatttle Pet Collective.
The Southwestern Ontario Pet Collective is all about bringing pet lovers, pet parents, pet businesses and pet enthusiasts together to share resources and build connections within our community. After such a disconnected year, it’s really nice to (by video blog) put faces to the names of the people in our community who love and support local pets.
The video and blog posts are for anyone in Southwestern Ontario who loves pets and wants to learn more about what this area has to offer. I would absolutely LOVE for you to join the Collective Group on Facebook, follow us on Instagram or subscribe to the YouTube Channel.
You can find all of the groups here –
Please join the collective and get to the know pet-lovers in your community!
We avoided the urge to add any new pets to our family, but have been so thrilled to see all of the new furry members of so many people’s families. All of these puppy and kitten (and new adult pet) pics on social media give me such joy! One of the interviews in the Collective actually talks about some of the best ways to acclimatise your new family member as things start to open up and people go back to work. Socialization and being exposed to a wide variety of experiences is so important in getting your new pets settled in. So, feel free to check out some of the interviews to get all the tips!
Did you add a new fur person to your home over the pandemic? Let me know! Send me pictures! I’d love to hear all about your new best friend!
I hope that you and your family have kept safe and well through these strange times, and I can’t wait to photograph your pets again really soon!
