Boy, am I happy to be back photographing after the three month break imposed by pandemic restrictions! I’m still being cautious and only booking outdoor sessions (even moving my studio to the backyard! Having sessions while physically distancing holds some new challenges. New protocols, lots of gear cleaning and hand hygiene. But, I’m just so excited to be able to see people’s beautiful pets again!
Phoebe and Lucy are two well-loved German Shorthaired Pointers. Phoebe is 13 and Lucy is 8, though they both seem much younger!
This session took place on a dreamy family farm in Puslinch, Ontario, south of Guelph. I was so thrilled to get to roam around this perfect location with Phoebe, Lucy and their owner Elyse.
Phoebe, who Elyse calls her “once-in-a-lifetime doggo” sadly has received a terminal diagnosis so this Star Session was an important priority for me. Even though Elyse mentioned that Phoebe was shy, she warmed up as soon as she figured out that ALL THE TREATS were for her!
Lucy, the younger of the two, is a happy-go-lucky pup. She just wanted to run around and patrol the farm for creatures. I managed to get lots of great images of her on the move with that big smile of hers!
It was such a pleasure to capture some special moments between Elyse and the girls, and Elyse couldn’t have picked a better time to do it. Both of the pups were full of energy and looking great.
I couldn’t have asked for a better kick-off to my sessions. I was so honoured to be able to photograph these lovely German Shorthaired Pointers in such a gorgeous spot! We even managed to catch a beautiful sunset at that end of the day. Thanks to Elyse, Phoebe and Lucy for a magical session!
